I'll have my original papier mache artworks for the Holidays, plus, I'll be bringing some Halloween and Spring Bunnies for those of you with collector's on your gift list. I'll also have an assortment of reproduction samples of my original artworks from every holiday too!

Holiday Shopping Event (Ascension Memorial Church, Ipswich) - Saturday Evening, Dec 5th, 6 - 9pm
I'll have my original papier mache artworks for the Holidays, plus, I'll be bringing some Halloween and Spring Bunnies with me for those of you with collector's on your gift list.

Information about the Holiday Shopping Event:
On December 5, 2009 from 6 - 9 PM Ascension Memorial Church will host a Holiday Shopping Event in Boone Hall at Ascension Memorial Church, 31 County Street, Ipswich, MA. 01938.

This event will be open to the public and there is a $5 entrance donation. Appetizers, desserts, wine & punch will be served and there will be lots of great raffle items. Shop at over 20 vendors with products including children's toys, skin care products, jewelry, soy candles, art work, woodcrafts, holiday foods and handbags. Come out for a fun night of shopping, supporting local small businesses and avoid the crowded malls!

The Governor's Artisan Faire This Weekend!

I will be joining other fine handcraft artist for the Governor's Artisan Faire this weekend - Saturday, November 14 and Sunday November 15, 10am - 4pm at the Governor's Academy, Performing Arts Center, 1 Elm St., Byfield, Mass.

Thanks for coming by to visit me at Newburyport's Fall Harvest Festival. Though it was a very chilly two days - it was so much fun and such a pleasure to meet everyone and introduce them to my papier mache creations. I'm back in the artroom working on new artworks for Thanksgiving and the Winter Holiday season. Well, September is just around the corner - or I should say weekend. Hard to believe the Summer has just whizzed by so fast. Cool weather has already set into New England and I'm ready for Autumn. "Spring Chick" now in my Etsy shop!

This cute little chick is ready for Spring, he’s looking for someone to deliver this special egg to and is now in my Etsy shop. (see link at right "Alycia's Art Etsy Shop" under "Where to Buy My "Original" Handcrafted Artworks" heading)

“Spring Chick” is an original hand sculpted and hand painted papier mache art piece. The polka dot egg shaped body with spiral twisted wire legs stands on a 3” diameter round papier mache box. He has a ruffled collar made of layers of antiqued crepe paper. His wings are attached with a small wire peg and also glued to keep secure. The small papier mache egg he is holding has been glittered to look like sugar crystals. I individually handmade twelve of these little chicks in 2006, and each is signed, dated and numbered. I only have three left, this one is #9 out of 12. Approximately 6” high

From the Art Room

Here's just a sampling of the many original designs I do in papier mache for every season. My mind is constantly whirling with new ideas for characters to create. I love the artistic process of taking my drawings and sketches and bringing them to life in three dimensional form. Well, back to my art room to get elbow deep in some papier mache!
